About VarsityStart

VarsityStart helps first-years at eight South African universities get real answers to the questions nobody explains: registration, funding, residences, exclusions and appeals, getting around, and where to get help.

How it works

• Ask or answer anonymously, with no account.
• A moderator reviews every post before it appears.
• The most helpful answers rise to the top, and the person who asked can mark an answer as accepted.
• Each university has an info page with key dates, fees, support services and contacts, every fact linked to its official source.

Independence

VarsityStart is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university. University names are used only to say which university a page is about.
