Rules 1.13 and 1.18 set a maximum duration. For a full-time contact qualification it is twice the usual length for one- and two-year qualifications, five years for a three-year qualification and six years for a four-year one. Time at NWU before a break counts. You must apply for an extension before the end of the penultimate academic year (Rule 1.16).
