Result codes after exams: what they mean and what to do next

Code or outcome What it means What to do next
DP Duly performed certificate: permission to write the exam (Rule G.19). If refused, speak to your head of department.
DPR / DNW DP refused / did not write. Defined in the Law handbook, so Law-specific. Check your own faculty's handbook.
Extended DP An extension of the DP requirements. Apply on ROSS within 2 weeks of the start of the course.
Class 1, 2A/2B, 3 and Failure 1, 2, 3 Result classes (Rule G.26). The mark bands were not in the text we read. Ask your department for the bands.
Supplementary Final mark of 40 to 49% (Rule G.37.2.2). In 2026 all supplementary exams are in one sitting, 19 to 30 January. Write the supplementary exam.
CR / ACR / NCR Aggregated credit codes (Rule G.37.5). Ask your faculty office what they mean for your degree.
Aegrotat For a missed exam because of illness. Apply on ROSS within 1 week of the missed exam.
Re-scrutiny A check that marks were added up correctly. There is no re-marking. Apply within 3 weeks of results.
Academic exclusion Under Senate Rules G.7 and G.8. Submit the Academic Exclusion Appeal Form through ROSS once results are released. Late applications are not accepted.
Exam concessions Extra time or other arrangements. Closing dates are the end of April and the end of September.
