Closing this month
- NSFAS applications for 2027 close at the end of October 2026 (reported as 31 October). Details below.
Funding: NSFAS and financial aid
- Apply for NSFAS on the myNSFAS portal. Household income up to R350,000 a year qualifies for bursary funding. R350,001–R600,000 may be offered the "missing middle" loan. Funding is limited, so apply early. Source: EWN report, 22 Sept 2026 · News report

Residences
I couldn't confirm a 2027 residence closing date. Rhodes's admission application asks for applications before the end of September, and residence allocations go through the allocation process after you're admitted. Check the Residence Allocations page and ROSS for your dates and deposit.

If you've been excluded on academic grounds
- Appeals fall under the university's Rules G7 and G8.
- You submit an Academic Exclusion Appeal Form, found on the Registrar's forms page, through ROSS. The appeal system opens once results are released, with a closing date. Late applications aren't accepted.
- The appeal is first heard by a Dean. If it fails it can go to an Appeals Review Committee, whose decision is final. This second stage is from an older university notice, so confirm it with the Dean of Students' office or your faculty.
