IT: wifi, email and help

Wifi: eduroam, in all buildings and some public libraries. Username is your student number with a g prefix plus @wf.ru.ac.za (for example g22a1234@wf.ru.ac.za) and your Rhodes password. Set up the device with the geteduroam app or eduroam CAT.
Off campus: RUoffcampus is a charged wifi service in certain flat complexes near campus. Devices need Android 13, Windows 10/11 with ESU, iOS 18 or macOS 14 or newer.
Email: your username with @campus.ru.ac.za.
Help: the Student IT Help Desk is in the main library, ground floor next to the circulation desks. It is open during library hours, closed in holidays and shorter at exam time. You can also email studentsupport@ru.ac.za.
Laptops: the IT Shop in the Struben Building (Monday to Friday, itshop@ru.ac.za) can source certain models. No standard model is enforced and there are public labs. We found no loan scheme.
Printing in residences is charged per page, with credit bought on ROSS.
