Libraries and study spaces

Researched by the VarsityStart team from official university sources. Last checked 10 October 2026. How we check

Main Library (term time): roughly 08:30 to 22:30 Monday to Thursday, with shorter Friday and weekend hours and later hours in exams (from a 2022 guide, so check the hours page).
The Information Commons has 56 computer workstations, group study areas and rooms, and a 24/7 study area for registered students. You need your Rhodes ID card to enter from 22:30 to 08:30.
Anyone may use the library, but borrowing needs registration as a member. The library is closed on public holidays, and the Director of Library Services can change hours (usually extending them in exams).
