Reporting rape, sexual assault and discrimination
The Office for Inclusivity and Change (OIC) has an online reporting platform (casereporting.uct.ac.za) where you can report with full disclosure or anonymously and get a reference number. In person: Ivan Toms Building, 28 Rhodes Avenue, Mowbray. Formal cases go to a Special Tribunal for sexual misconduct.
- Survivor support: yumna.patel@uct.ac.za or 021 650 3530. Support is available even if you do not report.
- Hotline (check): Older UCT pages list a 24-hour OIC hotline, 072 393 7824, but UCT's January 2026 OIC page does not, so confirm it before relying on it. For an emergency call CPS on 021 650 2222.
- Thuthuzela Care Centre at Victoria Hospital: transport can be arranged through CPS and the OIC.
