What you pay at registration
- 2027 fees were not published when we checked. UJ says fees generally rise 5 to 10 percent a year and tells applicants to contact the university in December for the approved fees.
- For reference, the 2026 minimum payment on the date of registration was R5,950, or R9,850 with a residence acceptance letter, and a registration fee (R650) and ICT levy (R500) are added to student fees annually.
- Some third-party guides still quote R5,560 and R9,270. Those were the 2025 amounts, so use the 2026 figures above and confirm the 2027 amount when UJ publishes it.
- Credit card payments reflect on your account immediately. EFTs from South African banks must be made 72 hours before registration closes.
