Who can I talk to at Wits if I am struggling?

Where do I go for counselling, and what if it is after hours? (Common question, answered from official sources.)

Struggling right now? You are not alone. SADAG suicide crisis line (24h, free): 0800 567 567. SADAG helpline: 0800 456 789. Your university counselling centre is on the info page.

The Counselling and Careers Development Unit (CCDU) takes walk-ins: an intake therapist sees you briefly and points you to the right support, and you may wait depending on how busy it is. Phone 011 717 9140 (weekdays 08:00-16:30) or email info.ccdu@wits.ac.za. After hours the Wits Student Crisis Line is free and open 24/7 on 0800 111 331, and there is a Wits Student Crisis App with live chat or text counselling. Source: wits.ac.za CCDU page.
