Food support
The Meal-a-Day Programme runs on all three campuses (established 2017). Per NWU's procedure document (2021), on Potchefstroom you email the Social Worker for the application form, and on Vanderbijlpark and Mahikeng you get it from the Student Counselling and Development office. Confirm the current process with your campus.
- Mahikeng, 2026: more than 500 students received parcels in July 2026, with 495 registered beneficiaries and more than 1,000 applications a year. The campus social worker coordinates it, and referrals come from the Health Care Centre, Student Campus Council, residences, the Disability Rights Unit and faculties. Each case is assessed individually.
- Older programme material says assistance stops if academic criteria are not met.
