Orientation and registration

Researched by the VarsityStart team from official university sources. Last checked 10 October 2026. How we check

In 2026, Orientation ran 2 to 13 February with online registration from 19 January to 13 February, and dates differed by faculty. Faculty pages say registration takes place after you take part in Orientation, and first-years need an orientation leader's help to register. Orientation is compulsory for Humanities and Law students. Registration is carried out by your faculty. UCT said orientation programmes are published as soon as they are available, and 2027 dates were not yet published.
