Escort: 24 hours for staff and students, especially those working late in libraries or labs. Call a campus number and give your location, name and a call-back number.
Braamfontein escort vehicle: run with the Wits SRC, 7 days a week, 17:00 to 05:00.
Wits mySOS app: free on the App Store and Google Play. Press the Wits button to alert CPS with your location. If you cannot see the button, update your cell number on your Wits online profile.
On campus: 24-hour CCTV and mobile patrols, and biometric readers at perimeter entrances on all five campuses (you must register).
Off campus: stay alert, avoid narrow quiet paths and headphones, do not show valuables at bus stops, and travel in twos or more.
