For students outside NSFAS eligibility, the TUT Bursary and Scholarship Fund covers tuition, accommodation, meals and transport (bursaryfund@tut.ac.za, 012 382 5825).

Food support: we found no current application route or student hamper scheme. A 2021 parliamentary reply named a Food Hamper Crisis intervention (monthly food and hygiene hamper) and Assist A Student (a R500 monthly meal allowance on a Fundi card, 341 students by July 2021). Those are 2021 details, so ask Student Development and Support whether either still runs.
In 2026 we found only community food drives, such as a Colour Run on 24 July 2026 that donated food to a centre in Ga-Rankuwa.
