Societies and sport

Researched by the VarsityStart team from official university sources. Last checked 10 October 2026. How we check

UP's societies portal lists over 130 registered student societies (they register annually with the SRC; join at societies.up.ac.za) and TuksSport runs more than 30 sport clubs and 10 sport academies. Sign up for sport through the UP-Tuks portal. Club fees vary by code (for example Ultimate was R300 a year for students). Some codes need trials, so contact the club first. The Student Sport Committee runs Campus Leagues for residences, houses and societies.
