RENN stands for "academically not eligible to continue". UCT's glossary says it is given when you have not met the published minimum readmission requirements and the FEC has decided not to grant a concession because your record suggests you would not succeed. These are two separate decisions, and the glossary says no exclusion is automatic. A RENN student can appeal to the faculty Readmission Appeal Committee (RAC) and show the circumstances that held back progress. Source: UCT academic standing codes glossary.
